The Clare Alleys Ladies League held its annual meeting and banquet in Barnes private dining room on Tuesday April 24 with 55 present. New officers elected unanimously include President Leda Stough and Vice President Naomi Smith. Pins and trophies were awarded to top bowlers including high average 152 to Louise Gibbs and high single 214 to Donna Colosky and Dorothy Buzard.

Burned Hands Delay First Day Trout Fishing
Richard Johnson 46 of 210 East Fourth St was burned on the back of his hands at 4 65 p m while preparing a gasoline stove for a fishing trip. A basement stove leak and gasoline explosion started a small fire. Johnson received treatment from Dr H J Ballard and the trip is delayed. Fire Department responded but fire was out on arrival. No damage to the home.

Hustlers Class Turkey Supper For Church Aid

Born June 19 1896 in Sears Michigan he served in WWI and worked 25 years at Buick Flint before returning to Lake in 1946. Carl Logan and Rachel Jasmine of Clare pled guilty to morals charges and were referred to Shaw for investigation before sentencing. Hermann Brink of Harrison, who pled guilty to disposing of mortgaged property, received two years probation, restitution, and $50 costs.
