Clare Schools Seek Ten Mills From County Allocation Board
The Clare Board of Education approved a tentative 1973-73 budget of 1,879,008 and will request 10 mills from the county allocation board next week. The board expects about 300,000 in revenue if approved, with last year’s allocation at 8.55 mills. Superintendent Richard Sivder called the budget "very tentative" and cited missing state valuation figures and uncertain state aid. The district covers Clare and Isabella townships and projects a 3.248 percent net budget increase over current operations, based on salaries and operating costs rising no more than five percent.
