Oren W Welch born October 18 1849 died April 8 1931 aged 81 5 14 was oldest of fifteen children. Lived in Laboud township Ohio then Labin to Lincoln township and with daughter Myron Dunkle. Voters cast 797 ballots as the Republican ticket won mayor clerk treasurer and justice of the peace in Clare. Ralph I. Hether defeated Lewis H. Thompson by 61 votes. Amendments were all defeated and several ward offices also went Republican with large majorities.
