Cincinnati CIO Delegates Return Disgusted Yet Determined

A Cincinnati CIO delegation returned from Washington convinced Cincinnati representation in Congress is unresponsive to labor needs. Thirty nine delegates from Cincinnati and 340 from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia pressed for full employment, unemployment compensation, 65 cent minimum wage, FEPC, veteran aid, poll tax repeal and opposition to Ball Burton Hatch. They praised Brents Spence Gardner Bender and criticized Taft and Hess for limited access. Delegates urged personal letters to legislators and local action to elect progressive candidates in 1946.
