Ohio Fire Fighters Convention Urges Fair Pension Funding

At the Cincinnati conference of the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters delegates pressed for 100 percent funding of the Police and Firemen’s Disability and Pension Fund and urged a moratorium end and wage negotiations with municipalities. They contrasted funding gaps with the Teachers Retirement System and city pensions, noting municipalities pay little while firefighters fund their own benefits. Delegates also backed higher death-benefit allowances and compulsory wage negotiations to uphold no strike pledges.
