Freight Trains Collide in Tunnel Near Cornwallis
In a tunnel near Cornwallis on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad this afternoon a head end crash between two freight trains killed five people and injured three. The cattle cars were wrecked with many animals killed or injured as about twenty cars were damaged and the tunnel filled with debris. Victims named include engineer Fred Pearce and brakeman William Miller. a tramp also died. Several others are reported missing or trapped.
