Regent Horthy Rules as Figurehead in Hungary
Reporter Samuel Spewack portrays Admiral Horthy as a symbolic ruler with a parliamentary government behind him. He describes Hungary as a monarchy without a king, focused on economic recovery and open ballots, while noting external pressures and ongoing feudal influence. Jeremiah Smith of the League of Nations acts as a steady, informed observer amid Budapest politics.
