Insurance Men Are Held For Forgery and Perjury
New York June 11. Indictments for forgery and perjury against Dr W G Gillette and forgery and filing false statements against Robert A Granniss former Vice Presidents of Mutual Life were returned by a special grand jury. Gillette faced six indictments five for forgery and one for perjury. Granniss was indicted for forgery and making false statements to the Insurance Department. Both surrendered and posted bail. cases set for first Monday in September. Indictments allege false entries in company books and concealment of 1904 net profits totaling 1 044 058 and misstatements to the department.
