Rube Benton falters after an error in the seventh inning as Carl Mays and the Braves seize the lead. The late rallies by the Tide fall short in the second game.
A crowd of 23 000 watched Cincinnati win the first game 8 to 5 after strong hitting by Roush Pinelli and Walker. Boston rebounded to win the second 8 to 5 as Hendricks era saw Donohue beaten early and Mays used. The Reds led 4 2 after three, held the lead through the fifth, but Braves tied it in the sixth, final score 8 5 Reds.
About 500 residents disrupted a Klansmen meeting at Stephen Illsley’s farm in Islington Westwood. Five hurt including two women and a boy. three men arrested for concealed weapons as houses and windows were smashed.
R. H. Hannah, former Dalton police chief, devoted 26 years to finding his father’s killer. Bill Jones, charged with the 1899 murder, is to stand trial in Dalton, Georgia, after a Texas tip led to his capture. A Macon Georgia train and a work train clearing wreck debris collided near Dames Ferry twenty miles north of Macon. One man died and several others were injured including engineer Robert Pittman and fireman E H Fuhrtral. The Royal Palm derailed earlier with twelve passengers and two mail clerks injured.

The body was sent to Cincinnati for burial expected to arrive today as relatives awaited brother Max Stallman from New York.
Indianapolis reports three killed when a car was struck by a northbound traction car eight miles south of the city. The Schwartz family perished. John 32, Lee 7, Pearl 39. Additional fatalities include Miller Dueaz and his two grown sons in Moorhead Mississippi, and two drownings in Memphis Tennessee.
In Columbus Adril Parsons 17 died and Kenneth Brooks 17 was badly injured when their car left the National Highway and overturned near the city. Two other occupants escaped uninjured. Brooks was expected to recover. In Monroe Sol Fling 45, police captain, was killed instantly and Patrolman George Lockwood 35 was seriously injured when a police squad car overturned three times on Telegraph Road two miles south of the city.

Lawrence Ritter 11 fell from a third story window on Race Street while asleep. He suffered a skull fracture and internal injuries but physicians at General Hospital say he probably will recover. He was found unconscious on the sidewalk by passers by and rushed to the hospital.
Edwardsville Illinois August 2 Thirty year search by Mrs Ilda Reed of this city for her child ended with word from Mrs Nettie May Fuller of Tacoma Washington the woman's daughter Thirty years ago when her husband died in Wooster Ohio Mrs Reed placed her two children in an institution after which all trace of them was lost Recently Edward Reed the woman's son found a man who knew of the case and told him where his sister could be found.

Paris August 2 Forty pilots with a mobile column to Ain Bouaissa bombed west of Ouezzan and on Mt Sar Sar. Captain Jaille, World War ace who downed six enemy planes, was fatally shot while flying low. The mobile force retook his body from the Rifbians amid the engagement. The fate of his observer lieutenant is unknown.
Madrid Aug 2 Fifty Spanish soldiers were killed or wounded yesterday in dislodging rebels betweenBulherif and Tau riat Amaranch, according to a War Office statement. The operations were described as fierce with twelve further casualties in a police operation on the western front.
Two negro suspects held up Sherman Adamson at about midnight last night. One man grasped his throat while the other rifled his pockets and stole a watch worth $25 and $14 in cash. Adamson is from 32 West Seventh Street and reported the incident to police.
Police solved the slaying of Walter McAdams 28 at Kellogg avenue after Floyd Whitaker 43 admitted firing the fatal shot. Arraigned with Louis Erbacher 33 and others, the case centers on a right of way dispute on a dark rural road near Camp Hungry.
