Mary Bruns Saves Family From Fire in Celina
Miss Mary Bruns of St Henry Ohio returned home to Celina and rescued her father, mother and five others from a blaze that destroyed a livery barn and hotel, causing $10,000 in losses with spontaneous combustion cited as the cause. The fire raged before dawn as residents slept, and the roof collapsed shortly after all were saved.

Fire at packing plant threatens Swift & Co works
St Joseph Missouri August 1 3 am a fire began in the beef sheds of the Swift & Co packing plant and for two hours endangered the entire facility. A general alarm drew all city departments to the scene. By 2 am flames were under control then at 2 20 the blaze again spread to oil rooms. Loss estimated at 250000 dollars.
