The Mexican government directs gunboats to disregard Fletcher and to proceed with protests. The actions follow a suffrage parade that led to clashes with police where several women were injured.
Special cables report police broke up a suffragette procession in London leading to injuries among women and children. Miss Emerson, an American suffragette, was arrested along with others. Emmeline Pankhurst was also taken into custody after a hunger strike following release from France.
J Penado, head of the Salvadorean committee within the National Central American Association, protests the pending treaty with Nicaragua. He warns the pact could lead to a US protectorate over Central America and calls it a frame-up by "dollar diplomats" and Nicaraguan traitors.
The Ben Franklin Club faces a sharp election with two rival tickets vying for officers and directors. The Red ticket includes Adam Braunwart and John L. Frazee among others, while the Blue ticket lists Adam Brainwart and C Lee Downey. A campaign rally is planned for Thursday afternoon at the club rooms with speeches by candidates.

John D. Rockefeller plans to spend his first Cleveland Christmas in 25 years with a Forest Hill gathering. An $85,000 celebration is planned around Rockefeller and his family with many Cleveland friends attending. Family members include Miss Lucy Spielman and Mrs. Parmaree Prentice with John D Rockefeller Jr expected from New York.
Panama officials say if no additional slides occur the first ship may pass through the canal in January. A 17 foot deep 90 foot wide channel through the Cucuracha slide is complete. Dredges Corozal and three others opened the passage as seven dredges continue to work.
Louisville, Dec 14. Arrests may be made tomorrow after two separate auto crashes. Emmett Welker, 15, was killed after being hit by a car owned by J. C. Bailey. the driver reportedly fled the scene. In another crash, Dr. L A Crandall and Frank Zoll, a patient, were injured when an auto truck struck their vehicle.
Charles O. Thomas, 46, formerly of Callery Junction, is under arrest in Pittsburg charged with a string of Burglaries. Police found his pockets filled with letters from widows in which he claimed to be the sole man for them.
Fair conditions prevail across Cincinnati and vicinity on Monday with a stationary temperature. Ohio continues fair weather with a downward temperature trend near the lakes while Indiana Kentucky and West Virginia remain generally fair.
A four story Illinois Warehouse Company building at Harrison and Water streets in Peoria burned tonight causing about 306000 dollars in damage. Flames shot hundreds of feet into the air as explosions rattled bricks and firemen narrowly avoided burial beneath collapsing walls. The blaze threatened nearby factories and wholesale firms before crews confined it to the one structure. sugar valued at 46000 dollars was lost in the basement.
