Chippewa Park unveils summer festival and concert lineup
Officials at Thunder Bay City Hall announced a year by year schedule for Chippewa Park including the Kite Festival on June 9, the third annual Children’s Festival on June 16, and a Sunday outdoor concert series starting June 30. The carousel will be delayed due to canopy adjustments while a new seasonal camping option and upgraded cabins expand park amenities. Lifeguard services return June 28 at Sand Beach with daily coverage in July and August.

51st annual Seniors Social and Banquet in Nipigon
A large crowd gathered at the Nipigon Legion for the 51st annual Seniors Social and Banquet with a roast beef meal served by Red Rock Legion Ladies Auxiliary volunteers and Sea Cadet Corps Onondaga members. Awards honored longtime volunteers including Tom LeBlanc for firefighting service and Linda Nicol for Rotary and community work. Victors and honorees included 99-year-old John Ahl and 94-year-old Rita Dutil, with offerings of fruit baskets and baskets for other seniors. The event featured dancing to Chrome Domes, socializing, and fundraising draws, plus an ATV charity ride for Kennedy Gehl’s family raising 2840 dollars.
