President Harding signed off on a plan to complete the government hospital program for World War I veterans. Brig. Gen. Charles E. Sawyer announced that about 12,000 beds will be in new fireproof VA hospitals by next year and 2,000 more by the end of 1924, with other facilities supplementing care.
Methodist Church notes list a 10:30 Christmas sermon with special music, 11:30 Sunday school, a 7:30 Christmas program, plus choir rehearsal, Boy Scouts, and a Thursday prayer service. Local sales promote hyacinths and candy through Choteau merchants. gift ads highlight leather goods, jewelry, and toys with a 39 cent shipping offer from Gilfillan Products Co.

Mae Anderson and Aimee Wilson visited Choteau for a weekend and attended a Con rad versus Teton basketball doubleheader. A December 15 Great Falls wedding united Roy McVey and Lillian Hazel. December 2 Dry Forks schoolhouse dance drew a large crowd. Harmony schoolhouse plans for December 23 invite all. Multiple sicknesses and visits marked the week, with appendectomy at Columbus hospital and various local family visits and social events.
W B Wiley announces parallel reductions in grazing season lengths and head charges for cattle horses and sheep in the Jefferson National Forest. Season for cattle and horses runs June 1 to October 15 with fees 45 and 56 cents per head respectively, down five and six cents. Sheep grazing shifts July 1 to September 15 with fees reduced from eight and a half to seven cents per head.

Mrs John Edwards visited the L J Otness home last Sunday. A small crowd attended the church social Friday due to bad roads and cold weather, raising 20 for window repairs. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs E Arnesmeyer at Chateau Hospital last Thursday. Rev Hougland to conduct Christmas services in Norwegian morning and English evening. Alva Kieffer of Great Falls visiting C Lindseth home. Miss Nora Richem hosted a gathering with games and late luncheon.
Rev H E Bush announces a Christmas program at St Stephen’s Church with 11:00 am Divine Worship 12:00 pm Church School 7:30 pm Drama of Bethlehem by the school 11:00 pm Midnight Eucharist Santa Claus will visit after the drama and the congregation will celebrate the Eucharist at eleven. All are invited to attend.
Ruth Roland leads a new Pathe serial with Bruce Gordon opposing her role. Val Paul Leo Willis Frank Lackteen and Bull Montana also in major parts for the production.
Hodkinson release features Maid Bennett as Lizzie Bennett in a tale of romantic indecision between Dan and the Count. The comedy arrives at the Royal Theatre for showings next Monday and Tuesday with audiences sure to hear a chorus of I told you so.
Mr and Mrs Chas Connor hosted a dinner at their Connor block apartments on Wednesday January 20 at 6 o clock in honor of Silas McPhee who reached age seventy nine. About twenty old friends joined a luncheon that became a feast and after dinner cards were played until near midnight with all voting the Connors as royal entertainers.
Wm Howe, manager of the Rocky Mountain elevator, will depart Saturday to Lewistown to spend Christmas with friends, reporting a brief holiday visit.

Washington reports the Federal Reserve Board allows bankers acceptance of six months maturity drawn by growers or cooperative marketing associations to be rediscountable by Federal Reserve Banks. The six month term requires warehouse receipts as collateral and aligns with domestic storage financing. Congress may extend maturities beyond six months with new legislation.
County superintendent Mrs. Saylor states she will hold special examinations in geography and physiology for students who have failed these subjects. Eligibility requires teacher recommendations for students to participate.
County superintendent Mrs. Edythe Saylor announces a spring trustees meeting for all school trustees in Teton County. The exact date is not named. One or more prominent speakers will attend and several matters of great interest to the schools will be discussed.
The Gordon Campbell drilling crew arrives Thursday night and starts operations at once. Company trucks haul casing and supplies this week in preparation for spudding in.
Henry Crossen reports first and second grades plan to meet Santa at the class sand table and make Xmas presents for parents. Edith Sabins joins second grade. Clarice Knutson is dropped for absence. Margaret Stephens returns. Eight grade sold 319.86 in Red Cross stamps and held a Christmas party.
Mr and Mrs Chambers entertained at dinner Tuesday night for eighteen guests at the Hotel Glenloyd. Sixteen guests are listed with couples including Mr Mrs Givens and the Hirshbergs. After dessert four tables of bridge awarded prizes such as a set of cards and score card to Mrs Givens and a deck to Mrs Hirshberg with prizes for Arthur Hirshberg and a pencil for marking scores.
Mr and Mrs G M Coffey Jr hosted a Monday dinner at their home in honor of Mr and Mrs Arthur Chambers of Oakland and Mr and Mrs Roy Pilling. The Christmas decorated table featured a small tree and red parcel favors. After dinner guests enjoyed bridge and dancing. Attendees included Mr and Mrs F J Hirshberg Mr and Mrs J Cain and Mr Clark Coffey.
