Legislature to Meet Monday in New Year at Helena
For the second time in Montana history the state legislature will convene on New Year’s Day. The two houses will meet at noon and swear in new members, with oath by the chief justice and secretary of state respectively. Plans call for each house to organize then adjourn, and a joint session on the second day to escort the governor for the biennial message.

County Treasurer O G Meadow reports tax collections up fifteen per cent from last year. Total real estate taxes 408903.58 and personal property 23192.87 bring the total assessed at 432096.45, with year end collections 362488.45.
