Northcentral Boy Scouts Launch 60 000 Statewide Drive
The Montana Boy Scout drive begins Tuesday October 2 at 7 30 am with a statewide radio address by Gov Tim Babcock as honorary chairman. Kickoff breakfasts are planned in Chateau Dutton and Power while leaders from Lions Club Veterans groups and Odd Fellows head delegations to solicit funds for the Northcentral Council which serves 6500 boys. The drive ends October 9 with final reports to Governor Babcock via conference call.

Most have left Choteau for campuses nationwide, with six at Montana State University and others at MSU Bozeman Western Montana College of Education Northern Montana College of Education Eastern Montana College of Education and a Billings or Great Falls business college. Vernon Wells Receives Rites In Local Chapel
Funeral services for Vernon D. Wells aged 87 were held in Banks Chapel with Rev. C. Fred Crowe officiating. Wells died last Wednesday at Teton County Rest Home. Born May 23, 1875 in Muskegon Michigan he married in Reno Nevada in 1907. He lived in Choteau from 1915 where he worked as a tailor. Survived by son Burt D. Wells of Portland Oregon a sister Mrs Glenn Watson of Montevista Colorado and two grandchildren. Burial followed in Choteau cemetery.
