County Board approves road, adopts valuation class Sixth
The County Board met September 8 9 and 10 1942 in regular session electing Peebles as chairman in Oudin s absence. They audited claims filed reports from the Poor Farm and County Treasurer and Clerk, approved tax valuation making the county sixth class, established a new county road in Sec 25 Twp 26 N Range 1 E, opened it to the public, and authorized tax deeds for delinquent lands in Bynum Irrigation district. Warrant payments were ordered for numerous salaries and services.

Water Fowl Season Opens This Saturday
Teton county sportsmen prepare for the migratory waterfowl season opening Saturday at 7 18 AM. Ducks should increase with favorable weather and water conditions, though stamps must be signed by the owner to avoid wardens taking hunters into custody. Helena Sept 21 Gov Sam Ford's state reorganization committee recommends abolishing 20 agencies and moving labor and agriculture divisions to central administration. After a four day study the panel adjourned until mid October with the abolition list not yet public. Enrolment Hits 212 At Choteau Grade School Opening
The Choteau public school opened on Monday September 21 with 212 students across eight grades. Grade counts ranged from 16 in grade three to 38 in grade one. There is no school for grade children next Wednesday September 30. Teachers will attend a county institute and the school will implement a five point wartime program including salvage drives bonds junior red cross and fitness activities.

Funeral held in Choteau for Pendroy man John Ridle
Funeral services were held Monday in Cho teau for John Ridle 86 Pendroy who died Saturday. Banks Funeral Home chapel hosted the rites with Rev Bert A Powell officiating and interment in Chateau cemetery. Ridle lived with the Paul Briggs family for years and is remembered for his kind heart and long service. Pallbearers were Al Werneke Alex Breding Art Lindseth Walter Halvorson Wm Brigse and Paul Briggs. Music was provided by Mrs C M Stensen and daughters Nancy and Leah Ferris.

Funeral for Albert Moore Ties Diamond Area Communities
Mr and Mrs Elmer Erickson traveled to Deer Lodge to attend the funeral of Albert Moore uncle to Mrs Erickson, a prominent Diamond citizen and Mason. Moore operated saw mills in Blackfoot and died earlier in the week. Erickson works as foreman at The Acantha office.

Betsy Syse Thorud of Fairfield and Dutton dies at Great Falls hospital at 74. Her funeral at St. Pauls Lutheran in Fairfield honors a charter church member and former Ladies Aid president. Great Falls expects the first wartime Japanese laborers to arrive Friday as Teton County ordered 76 workers from the war relocation board. A prior arrival of 146 laborers that evening was apportioned to northern Montana beet counties for field work.

On September 18 1912 IT bought Karl Bishops stake in The Chateau Acantha and arranged to acquire The Acantha by merging The Teton Citizen into it. The Citizen will cease publication and subscribers will shift to The Acantha with new advertising rates and a 450 name mailing list expansion. Equity will be preserved as much as possible and subscription accounts will be settled.
