Pioneer Matron Mathilda K. Burbank Dies in Chateau
Mathilda Kaln Burbank 86, wife of A C Burbank and pioneer matron of Montana, died at 11 05 last Saturday at her home in Chateau after nearly six years invalid. Born February 2 1858 in Illinois, she and Julian F Burd helped establish Dupuyer and Chateau, later marrying Andrew C Burbank. She supported frontiersmen and neighbors through Rebekah lodge Neighbors of Woodcraft and Rathbone Sisters. Funeral Tuesday at the Methodist church. interment in Chateau Cemetery.
