Auxiliary Unit Resumes Work After Vacation Meeting
The local American Legion Auxiliary met at Mrs. B. I. Packer’s home for the first meeting after vacation season. Reports on the Great Falls state convention were given by Mrs. George Carroll and Mrs. Packer. Members were named to lead child welfare, historian, music, and membership publicity roles. Plans for a district meeting in October were discussed and relief efforts for needy veterans’ families were arranged. Sixteen attended.

Hopes to Move Family to Choteau
Glen R. Becker, who joined L. E. Taylor garage as a salesman on September 1, said last week the business outlook here could justify moving his family to Choteau soon. His wife and two sons live in Cut Bank where he worked five years for Clapper Motor. Becker currently stays at the Beaupre hotel and is bullish on the V-Ford, claiming it will reach 60 miles an hour in second gear.

Native fry planted in Teton waters to boost trout stock

A Miner Echo clipping from Cle Elum Washington, received by Miss Lenora Dale, reports two Roslyn baseball games starring Obert Dale. In Bremerton rout burst, Dale held visitors to five hits as Roslyn won 7 to 4 with strong fielding. The next day he pitched again after yesterday’s work, allowing Auburn five runs on 12 safeties. Joe Dailey opposed him.

Fire on Hungryman Creek Blamed on Aug. 29 Lightning
A forest fire discovered late last week on Hungryman Creek, tributary to Birch Creek, is attributed to an August 29 lightning strike. Ranger Streeter said it smoldered for days, aided by wind, before guard Ed Chenault detected it. Seven men including Gale Ballard and Bud McNeal fought the blaze, containing it after it burned about an acre despite heavy timber and pine needle deposits.

The 1933 Teton High frosh named John Shannon president to protect against aggressive sophomores and boost class spirit.
