Montana Game Prospects Boost Fall Hunting Outlook
Bob Cooney of the Montana State Fish and Game Department says this year should be favorable for both game and domestic animals. Elk, deer, antelope, moose, and growing bear populations signal a strong hunting season with seasonal openings ranging October 1 through November 15 in various districts and planned rest for sage hens and possible new hunts for grouse and pheasants. Cooney notes spring salt placements help concentrate game and protect winter ranges.
