Engineer Watkins of the Great Northern railway arrives with a 14 man crew, camping four miles south of Chateau at the Richards ranch after a supply order at a local store. Rival Milwaukee engineers, led by Healy, camp at the Bowers ranch and plan a ten day stay before moving north. The Great Northern team works in town this forenoon as plans remain undisclosed.

Helena Man Sets World Record Price for Range Frags Cattle
A Helena stockman, Dudley N. Hartt of near Two Dot, set a world record price on the Chicago market last Monday. He earned nine dollars and fifty cents per hundredweight for twenty five grade Shorthorn and Hereford dehorned beef steers averaging 132 pounds. He also received nine dollars per hundred for a second cut of 122 head averaging 1254 pounds. Thirty two heifers averaging 1150 pounds topped the day at 7.75 per hundredweight.

Republicans at State Convention in Great Falls
About twelve hundred delegates and visitors attend the Republican state convention in Great Falls. Three hundred delegates arrived by special train from Butte and Helena. State Chairman John G. Waite of Lewistown called the meeting to order at noon, with Harry G. Wilson of Billings serving as temporary chairman. The hall was packed and routine business followed before a 5 PM adjournment.
