Milwaukee Begins Groundbreaking on Great Falls Choteau Line

Milwaukee starts construction Monday on the Great Falls Choteau railway line. A small initial crew, soon to grow, breaks ground at the old Frenchy place north of town. Senator Meyer of Red Lodge Dies in Butte

Montana state senator W I Meyer a Republican candidate for congress died suddenly in Butte on October 24 from valvular heart trouble. He fell ill October 13 and remained hospitalized. he served in the Montana legislature from 1895 as both representative and senator. The Acantha reports Charles Frost of Slathead county will open an agent's furnishing store in Choteau around December 1. He has rented the Jackson block, will remodel for display glass front and reconfigure the interior. Frost has 14 years with Nate Wertheim in Great Falls and later ran his own business.

Dutton Social and Civic Notes Highlight Week Activities

Frank Lockwood returned from Cascade Sunday and left Wednesday for Washington due to his father’s illness. A Methodist Church foundation was completed last week. Numerous residents, including Markle, Sollid, Wiprud, and Miller, made visits to Great Falls and Chateau. A Democratic Rally occurred in Miller’s Hall with local gatherings and parties noted around town.
