Teton teachers hear educators at annual institute
Seventy elementary teachers in Teton county attended the annual teachers' institute led by County Superintendent Anna E E Stafford. State supervisors Marguerite Hood and Regina Kohten spoke on music education and the Montana course of study, with other sessions covering reading, art, and slogans for character building. Scrap books were judged, and teaching staff were honored at a luncheon before Finley was re elected president of the county teachers association.

George Hoffman Arraigned on First Degree Murder Charge
George Hoffman pleaded not guilty to murder in the first degree at a special court session, with Coun ty Attorney B I Packer presenting the case. Attorney S J Rigney assisted as counsel after the judge advised the defendant of his rights and the penalties. Witness lists were expanded, and other court actions included a 1924 judgment enforcement, a mother's pension, a foreclosure decree, and a commitment for a nine year old to a Boulder school for the feeble minded.

Canadian wheat buyer visits Choteau en route to Great Falls
N Nelson and wife and son Kenneth visited Choteau on the way to Great Falls. Nelson, a grain buyer for Alberta Pool Elevators, noted a bumper Canadian wheat crop and discussed prices, transport routes, and high protein content. He said Alberta's crop alone tops 160 million bushels with wider provincial output around 450 million for all Canada.

In a tight local game Teton high edged Simms by two points 6 to 4 on Saturday. Teton used a stronger offense to score early while Simms managed a late touchdown. Mcdonald Armstrong and Connole led rushing and blocking as Joudonnais’s quarterbacking puzzled Simms. Dutton hosts Teton next Friday after a Dutton win 67 to 0 earlier. Albert Johnson from Dutton played a key role last year.

Antelope Shot at Knust Ranch Leads to Auction Carcass
A buck antelope was shot unlawfully at H. E. Knust ranch near Spring Valley by an unidentified poacher. Harry Odenwald and another man witnessed the incident and the shooter fled in a red car. The carcass was delivered to the sheriff and later sold at public auction for $9 to benefit the game commission. Officers continue to investigate with limited results.

Jack Akey Wins Ford Car at Lions Benefit Dance
Jack Akey and Dr. Kuhns claimed a Ford coach won as a door prize at the Lions civic benefit dance. Akey’s name was drawn but Kuhns held half interest in the ticket. Akey then bought Kuhns’s share. He planned to trade his Dodge coupe and keep the Ford, gifting candy and cash to Miss Ann Weyer and Lions organizers.
