Pheasant season begins Sunday noon Oct 29 in Teton county. Ring-necked pheasants three birds daily, six possession after day one. Hungarian and chukar six birds aggregate, twelve after day one. Shotgun up to 10 gauge or long bow. birds must bear a foot and one wing for identification.

Whealey captures PP&E regional title in Great Falls

Pat Whealey, 12, son of Mr and Mrs W E Whealey of Chateau, won the zone finals in the Ford Punt Pass and Kick event in Great Falls with 291 points, earning a district berth in Dickinson North Dakota on October 28. Other local winners in Great Falls included Mark Bissell and Alison Stenson with top ages, and Brad Bauman finishing second in the 10-year-old group after earlier advancing to Minneapolis.

Old Settlers Meet Saturday in Chateau and Halls

Teton's Oldest Settlers club will hold its annual party Saturday night at the Legion and Odd Fellow halls with dinner at 6 30 p.m. A program and business meeting follow, then dancing and a midnight lunch. Members over 51 who have Montana and county residency qualify. dues are 1 dollar and banquet 1 75.

Sheriff sale set for Villager Building Tuesday at courthouse

A sheriff's sale will be conducted at the front door of the court house in Chateau next Tuesday at 10 a.m. to auction the Villager building owned by Mr and Mrs John Davison who filed bankruptcy about 22 years ago. Chateau visitors Mr and Mrs Louie Clough of Great Falls were in town on Sunday afternoon.

First Half Taxes Due November 30 in Teton County

County Treasurer Marie Stenson announced the 1967 real estate taxes in Teton County are due. The first payment is due on or before November 30 with a 2 percent penalty plus 8 percent interest on past due amounts. The second half is not delinquent until May 31, 1968.

Savings Time Period To End This Sunday

The first state-wide Daylight Savings Time period ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. DST became nationwide last April under a federal law. some states exempted participation. Opinions vary on its length and impact on theaters farmers and daily life. Regular time resumes until DST returns next April.

George Fuller Services Held

Funeral services for George Wil son Fuller 86 retired Power area farmer were held Friday Oct 20 at St Paul Lutheran Church on the Fairfield Bench. Rev Marlow Eng berg officiated. Burial was in St Paul Church Cemetery. Fuller died Wednesday Oct 17 in a Great Falls hospital born Feb 12 1881 in Germany came to America as a youth and settled first in Minnesota later in Power in 1916. He married Bertha Wilson in Minnesota in 1914 and she died in 1947. Survivors include son Emmet of Power four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Donations Slow In Fund Drive For Hospital

Janet Wedum, secretary of the Teton Memorial Hospital Board, said donations are arriving slower than usual for the annual fund drive. The drive is far from its goal and will take longer than hoped, delaying plans for a sun room addition. Donations can be sent to Mrs. Janet Wedum or Dr. J. R. Crabtree.

Bozeman Montana farmer D P Fabrick received a commemorative medallion from Congress, minted for the Federal Land Bank System 50th anniversary. Adolph Saterlie Funeral Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services were held for Adolph S. Saterlie on Saturday October 21 at Banks Funeral Home with Rev. C Fred Crowe officiating. Saterlie died October 18 following a heart attack leaving a long Montana life after birth in Evansville Minnesota and marriage to Caroline Waynild in 1914. He resided near Bynum before later moving to Chateau with family ties to the Farmers Union and Oldest Settlers club. Interment followed at Choteau Cemetery with Banks Funeral Home in charge.
