Esteemed Pendroy resident Michael Campbell died at Chateau hospital on October 12 due to age. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church in Choteau with Rev. Father James J. Sheerin officiating. Interment followed in Choteau cemetery. Survivors: three sons John Bynum Patrick Great Falls James Spokane, widow Janette Moir, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The Irish born long-time resident was known for generosity and community service.

Edmond M Bammel Jr of 9819 South East Stark received an honorable discharge from the Army Air Forces at Great Falls Army Air Forces Separation Base after 44 months service. He earned 74 points under the point system and served 24 months in India with the India China Division of the Air Transport Command. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with one battle star and the Good Conduct Medal.

Honorably discharged motor machinist’s mate first class Leigh Nett returned to Bremerton after more than three years in the U. S. Navy. He logged about 250000 miles aboard the USS Ormsby, a troop transport that took part in six invasions and three reinforcement runs. Nett described the tropics as hot, then settled into a cottage near the John Moore place, reuniting with his wife who had worked in Fairfield with Dr. Crary’s office following a doctor’s death.
