Lt John Nordhagen and Miss Hazel Davidson were married in Las Vegas Nevada on Saturday Oct 6. The couple, long noted as Chateau youths, plan to reside in California after a ceremony details remain sparse. Nordhagen served as pilot on B 29 and C 47 aircraft and is awaiting discharge. Miss Ruth Clark purchases the Parlor Shoppe, a women’s apparel store in Chateau, from Mrs Willa Nelson who held the business after Mrs O Hansen founded it and Mrs Ella Mellon operated it earlier. Arnold Beck Home After Four Years With The Colors
Arnold Beck son of Mr and Mrs Tony Beck of the Beck community returned home after 41 months in the South Pacific. John Francis Burrill, 83, longtime Montana prospector and mining enthusiast, died at Chateau hospital early this week. A native of Massachusetts he claimed to come to Montana in 1892 and was locally known as Three Fingered Jack.

New Royal Theatre to Rise in Chateau by Crary Family
Mrs. E. J. Crary and her son Dr Lyall Crary announce a modern Royal Theatre to be built on the northwest Sulgrove tract at First avenues. The 300 seat venue will face Flait street, include apartments on the second floor, be air conditioned, and may be named the Crary Memorial building. Construction starts when materials arrive, possibly spring, with architectural plans by theatre experts and Western Electric sound system in place.

Albert Tomsha formerly of Great Falls served on LSM 346, part of Gen. Eichelberger's Eighth Army detachment, landing on a beach near Tokyo on Sept 9 1945. His ship was first to unload on the beach and part of early occupation forces. He awaited home under the Navy point system and looked to continue trips to Japan. His wife Pauline and daughter Judith Anne live with relatives in Fairfield. he is the son of Geo Tomsha of Collins.

Sgt. John C. Haschke husband of Marian Haschke and son of Mr and Mrs H Haschke of Choteau Montana is enrolled at Shirvenham American University in England where the second two month term opened Oct 8 with more than 3500 soldier students enrolled. He is taking surveying calculus and business law courses. In 13 months overseas he has won the bronze star medal the combat infantry badge and two campaign stars. He is a member of the 405th Infantry. The school aims to provide college and university grade courses for personnel awaiting redeployment or in the army of occupation.
