Ed Gowan of near Bynum led Montana Dairy Improvement Association in September with a herd of 15 or fewer. His grade Holsteins produced 1050 pounds of milk per cow and 39.75 pounds of butterfat, with one cow earning him 20 dollars. only two cows in the state exceeded 40 pounds butterfat, and one belongs to Gowan.

Two Smith-Hughes Ag Boys To Be Selected For Trip
Two Smith-Hughes agricultural boys from Montana will be chosen to visit the International Livestock Show in Chicago. They travel as guests of the Milwaukee railroad under Prof M J Abey Bozeman supervisor of vocational education. About 20 county boys finished projects in poultry livestock and crops. Four outstanding workers will be narrowed to two by about the 10th of next month. Last year George Loomis and Jesse Malone made the trip.

Two men fined for malicious mischief at Chateau Country Club
Jim White and Clyde Babcock, ranch workers, were arrested by Undersheriff J L Billings Thursday night. They pleaded guilty to malicious mischief for stealing from Chateau Country club and other vandalism. Judge J G Jackson fined one $50 and the other $25, with $5 costs each.

Buick Goes Into Ditch Injuring One Passenger
A 1924 Buick roadster driven by J B Briggs of Lewistown with four aboard left the road two miles north of town Tuesday around 5 pm and overturned into a ditch. Joe Fitzgerald is hospitalized in Chateau with possible rib fractures and internal injuries. The other three passengers suffered only cuts and bruises and are staying in Chateau to recover.

The Public School will close Thursday and Friday for the State Teachers convention in Great Falls. Miss Thomas will run a baby clinic in the school auditorium Thursday. Mr. Brown from the Montana Children's Home led a heart drive for orphans in the lower grades. The primary pupils led Wednesday's assembly with the primary band providing music. They are planning a Hallowe'en party, and thirteen mothers attended the program and stayed to visit classrooms. Records used by Miss Vaughn for music appreciation will be purchased for future use.

Malone Buys 30 Head Purebreds At Cook Dispersal
Carl Malone purchased 30 head of registered Hereford yearling bulls at the A. B. Cook herd dispersal in Townsend. The sale of more than 2500 head of Hereford cattle drew buyers from across the United States and Canada with Malone paying about 225000 dollars per head. Walter Hill bought the show herd for 13000 dollars and later sold Panama Choice 49th for 3000 dollars to Tillman Thompson of Appleton Minnesota. Malone is a leading Teton County cattle breeder expanding his renowned herd.

Collision Injures Driver on Fairfield Tractors
An Avery tractor and a McCormick Deering tractor collided Sunday at Walter Wren place near Fairfield. The vehicles belonged to Walter Wren and Bowers threshermen. Bowers, the driver, reported a sticking clutch caused the crash and suffered a slightly injured foot.
