At band practice Monday night the local band discussed a name change. The group, now grown beyond a boys band and sponsored by the American Legion post, will be called the American Legion band. County Agent Bob Clarkson promoted the cause for about two years, building a foundation. I. P. Jackson, hired as bandmaster, now leads a juvenile high school band.

Sheep Club To Receive Lambs On Saturday
The Boys' Sheep club of Fairfield will receive 250 lambs Saturday. Phil J. Cole furnishes the lambs with club members paying $1 per head. Five members will each fatten 50 lambs, aiming to raise weight to about 90–95 pounds by January 1. County Agent Robert R. Clarkson and M. K. Luther assist, with interest from van W. Hall of the Milwaukee road in the livestock project.

Livestock special wrecks near Choteau in Montana
The livestock special en route from Conrad to Chateau collided with the Teton River bridge area, sending the engine and tender off the track and injuring engineer Charles Frederickson. Fireman F. Midhigan and traveling engineer Ray Stone escaped. Cars derailed included a sleeper and a diner coach, while livestock were dazed but unharmed. responders freed the trapped engineer, officials coordinated wreck recovery to Great Falls, and the community carried on with the day’s program and speeches despite the setback.

The music department under Miss Vaughn has formed a boys quartette for its first appearance at the teachers institute. Members are Howard Harman Charles Cohoe basses Tommy Winner and Johnny Peterson tenors. The boys football team lost 32 to 6 at Belt last Saturday and will play several home games soon. James Mitchel and John Mitchell, residents of Great Falls, were fined 100 dollars each by Justice Ferris after a disturbance at Bol Saturday night. O J Erickson had pressed charges. warrants were issued as witnesses described unruly youths under liquor influence. The brothers pleaded guilty, receiving 50 days in lieu of attorney, with fines set at 100 dollars apiece.

Sheep and Cattle Shipments From Chateau Tuesday
Three carloads of sheep and one car of mixed cattle were shipped from Chateau Tuesday over the Great Northern. A sheep car came from John Hentges ranch to Bart Armstrong at Cascade, two more sheep cars were shipped by Earl Yeager to Boles Livestock in Chicago, and the cattle car was sent by Teton Shipping Association with Jas. Drinkwine, Wm. Cook, Hugh Robison, and Oliver Mauseth as contributors. F. R. Barrington of Cut Bank visited Choteau on Wednesday.
