Federal officers seize car and beer on Augusta Road
Federal officers Dan Corcoran and Lee Brink stopped a Studebaker on the Chateau Augusta highway near the old Jeffries ranch at 7 30 p m and seized 20 sacks of Canadian beer. A man named Cunningham claimed the car and was taken to Great Falls for federal arraignment. The vehicle is linked to George George of Butte who was involved in a past shooting at Sweet Grass. Tex Hunter, the alleged runner, is reported to be imprisoned at Deer Lodge.

County Attorney George M. Coffey Jr. filed informations in district court against L Shelton Allan Stewart Andrew Ericson and Albert Gebhart for misdemeanors in connection with liquor traffic following raids at By num and Pendrey by state enforcement officers led by Eugene Van Wert and E C Collins. Shelton Stewart and Ericson posted $1000 bonds each for district court appearance. Gebhart fled the country and is not served. Trials set for late November, with Hawkins and Stonehouse also to be tried then.
