Brady Irrigation District to Build Dam in Farmers Coulee
Work started last week on a reservoir in Farmers Coulee on state land leased by Paul Kropp about 15 miles northeast of Chateau. Jack Boyne of Fairfield directs the contract for completion in about two months weather permitting. The project includes one main dam and four dikes to impound roughly 3 000 acre feet of water, supplementing Brady Irrigation District’s existing Bynum reservoir stock. The site has long been controlled by the company and about 90 000 yards of earth fill will be moved with LaTourneaus machines.

Qualified electors away from the county on election day may apply for absent voter's ballots with County Clerk Geo A Carroll. Applications may be filed any time, and forms are available at the clerk's office. A voter must be out of the county, not just out of precinct, to qualify. Last possible filing dates vary by precinct. outside Chateau supplies go out Nov 6, so Nov 4 is the final day for those precincts. The 1937 act provides post election removal of nonvoters from the registration list and requires reregistration to vote again. Electors who miss voting are urged to reregister if they wish to vote in future elections.
