Train Jump Near Chateau Injures Man In Wreck

A Milwaukee train of eight cars derailed four miles south of Chateau last Friday afternoon. The wreck injured a worker named Spayde who was treated at local hospitals before transfer to a larger facility. A second derailment occurred Monday with minor damage as repairs began on the badly worn track beds.

Episcopal clergyman Milner arrives to lead St Stephens Choteau

W Lee Milner from Yonkers arrives this week to take over duties at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. He will serve parishes in Choteau Augusta Conrad Shelby and Cut Bank and will be ordained this winter. Milner and his wife Dorothy Parrish Milner and their daughter Rosamund Lee reside at Sulgrove Tourist court cabin 5. Milner, born June 18 1918 in Yonkers, is a lay vicar and veteran of WWII. He will preach his first Choteau sermon Sunday October 21 at 11 am and lead Sunday services thereafter with Sunday school at 10 am in the rectory.

Lorraine Rice Named New Hospital Superintendent

Lorraine Rice of Glendive has been appointed as hospital superintendent this week. Her earlier career includes afternoon supervision at Deaconess Hospital in Billings in 1947 and nurse staff work for the Indian service in 1949 1950 at Hardin and Fort Washakie. She trained at Dawson County High School in Glendive and Montana State College School of Nursing in Bozeman, with a Billings Deaconess training in 1947. She has since worked at Lutheran Hospital in Terry and Circle, and is staying at the Meda McClean residence in Chateau.
