Immunization Clinics Set for Dutton and Power Schools

Miss Lillian Urban, a Teton county public health nurse, announced immunization clinics for preschool children over nine months old. The clinics will be held next Monday, October 15, at Dutton School at 9 a.m. and at Power School at 11 a.m.

Ruth Corey to be discharged soon from Camp Sherman

Clark Corey visited Choteau on Monday to share news of his daughter Ruth Corey a staff sergeant with the WAC who landed in the States after about three years overseas service in Africa Sicily and Italy Her discharge is expected shortly at Camp Sherman Illinois before returning home for a visit Dean Corey and Chester Corey also served overseas with the army and air forces respectively and are now in Germany and Chanute Field Their old Bloomfield Indiana friend Dr G J Buckner joined by Ralph Cox visited the Coreys at their ranch in Montana

Montana Game Rules Set for 1945 Chinese Pheasant Hunt

State Fish and Game Commission issues season dates from October 28 to November 18 1945 for Teton County Chinese Pheasants and Hungarian Partridge with daily bag limits of three and possession limits of six after day one. Shooting hours run 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. No hunting on State or Federal preserves.

Teachers Institute Set For Oct 16 In Chateau Grade School

County superintendent Mrs Muriel Reiquam will supervise a teachers institute in the Chateau grade school building next Tuesday October 16. Rural graded elementary and high school teachers superintendents and principals are urged to attend. The program covers an integrated K-12 core curriculum with emphasis on the unit method and skills, plus education codes, physical education health and recreation. Veteran Howard E Anderson plans hunting after discharge

S Sgt Howard E Anderson, 33 months overseas, now at McCaw General Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington, says he will take it easy and do some hunting and fishing. He enlisted in January 1942, served in the Caribbean, Guam with the Twentieth Air Force, and earned the American theatre ribbon, Asiatic Pacific ribbon with one star, Good Conduct Medal, and sharpshooter badges.

State Clinic for Crippled Children Set for Oct 24 25

SERVICE MEN HOME IN TETON COUNTY RETURN

Many Teton county service men return to their homes this week. Chick Sulgrove former councilman is back at his service station in Chateau. His sister drove to Butte to meet him after his discharge in California. Bob Dellno, a radioman on dive bombers, is home after discharge at Bremerton. Maurice Mancoronal Jr. was discharged recently. Maurice finished furlough here before heading to a separation center. Robert Van Scherpenzeel discharged at Fort Lewis will be home soon after heavy fighting in the South Pacific. Lt. Grant Curtis discharged and is with his father at the local implement store.

Petty Officer 1st Class Jack ONeil and his wife arrive home Sunday as he leaves the service to settle back. Gus Kade, in Florida training, is also back home on furlough during the break.

Victory War Loan Drive Starts Oct. 29

A. C. Hanusa heads Teton County War Finance for the Victory Loan drive opening Oct 29 with a county quota of 257000. Montana and nine western states held a Portland conference where Treasury officials outlined the 11 billion dollar effort to aid demobilization veterans and occupation forces.

Choteau Man Enjoys Visit With Brother Veteran of Overseas

Rudolph Menghini a science teacher at Teton High School visited Power and Fairfield with family to see his brother Herman Menghini who returned home after more than three years in the overseas armed forces. Herman served in Europe after Pearl Harbor and took part in campaigns in Africa Sicily and Italy before sailing home and discharge at Camp McCoy.

Dairy Feed Subsidies Paid for July August September

Dairy producers are receiving dairy feed subsidy payments for whole milk butter and cream sold in July August and September. Roy Morgan AAA chairman says payments are 45c per hundred weight for whole milk and 18c per pound for butterfat. Clifford Paddock and Sterling De Prata will assist at Greenfield school on Oct 15 and Fairfield town hall on Oct 16 to help fill applications, with final deadline November 80th for submissions.

State Liquor Stores Adopt Hour Earlier Opening

Clyde Darby reports a new statewide schedule effective October 15 will have liquor stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. instead of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The change follows a directive from J. A. Buley administrator of state liquor stores and the state liquor control board response to labor groups and vendor wishes.

W E Billy Pinnell and Maurice Talifson, well known Alaska fur dealers, are visiting relatives and friends after departing Alitak Kodiak Island. They traveled by ship to Seattle after stopping in Anchorage Seward and traveled via Achorage. Maurice Talifson is the son of George Talifson and brother of Milton who died in Germany.

Kathleen Frances M Cormack of Farming ton and Matthew Maitland Troy of Augusta were married at St Joseph's Church Chateau in a Nuptial Mass. Rev J J Sheerin officiated with Fr Delaney and Fr Halligan. Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride and Leo Schenley served as best man. Professor Tott alias Lawrence Burlingame ensured its arrival at Chateau with 32 cents postage. The letter says he will be home on leave October 20. Economics class gains new textbooks though they contain mostly questions.
