The annual Teton County Teachers association meeting will be held Friday October 19 at the Chateau grade school auditorium. About 75 to 80 teachers and administrators are expected. The Chateau Lions club will double the skating rink size this winter by extending the east bank and moving the south bank. A former swimming pool building will be repurposed as a rest area with a stove for skaters, and lighting will be improved with a string of lights over the rink.

Power Man Reports Oil Drilling on His Ranch
P H Dederick and son s of Power visited Chateau last Friday. He said drilling would start the first of the week on his ranch in the southwest quarter of section 6 township 23 north range 1 west. Leasors are McCutcheon and Kaufman Bill Elliott is the driller. Previous test wells four miles northeast showed oil. If conditions hold the test should finish in about 30 days. Power men reported excellent crop conditions wheat yielded 50 bushels per acre on summer fallowed ground.
