Mystery Skeletons Found in Gravel Pit Near Chateau
Local contractor Bob Swartzel uncovered two wooden coffins buried in a county gravel pit four miles south of Chateau on Oct. 11. The remains include a man and a woman or a woman and child. coroner Larry Banks noted possible two bodies. Items found beside the coffins include a suitcase, a coin purse, a China doll head, and a crudely fashioned ring. The ages and identities remain unknown.

Funeral services for Mrs Maude Lavelle Rogers of Choteau were held Saturday at the Choteau Methodist church with Rev. Grant S Moore officiating. She died October 9 and is survived by her husband Walter Cleo Rogers four sons Jack B Rogers Walter C Rogers and Charles J Rogers two daughters Norma Alice Beaudouau and Janette G Gollehon thirteen grandchildren and one brother Marvin Bennett. Banks Funeral Home led arrangements with pallbearers listed.

USDA Sets Shorn Wool Incentive Price at 62 Cents
