Datton Woman Dies After Last Visit to Hemeland
Mrs Olafine Hemstad 72 wife of John Hemstad of Datton died in a Great Falls hospital Monday morning after a brief illness. She came to America in 1910 from Norway and moved to Dut ton in 1924. Survivors include her husband five daughters two sons a sister and brother in Norway and 14 grandchildren.

The annual Boy Scout Drive kickoff drew forty attendees at Chateau Lions Hall with Audrey Davidson and Claire Hensley noted as the only women workers. Community groups including American Legion Lions Odd Fellows VFW and Jaycees were represented. Texaco station profits will be donated to Boy Scouts this Sunday and scouts will assist with windshield washing. GN Schedule Livestock Shipments to Calf Show
Great Northern reports thirty five hundred sheep and about two thousand cattle to be shipped this week. Sheep moved in 15 double deck cars to Washington and the east. Murray Sheep Co buys them. Later this month GN orders 45 cars for the annual Calf Show in Chicago. about two thousand cows and calves expected for the show. Charles Dahlin retires Saturday Oct 12 but will remain through stock season.
