The Chateau artist Jess Gleason completed a full elk family in clay intended for bronze reproduction by a major sporting goods seller. He spent five years on the project adding two locked horn deer, a buffalo skull, a sheep head, and an Indian on a bronzed pedestal. Photographs were sent to Abercrombie Fitch Sporting Goods Co. for potential bronze statues.

Mobile X ray Unit to Help Teton County Reach
Muriel S. Reiquam says the Montana Tuberculosis association will place a $25,000 mobile x ray unit in Teton County in the third week of December. The unit, operated by the division of tuberculosis control, will screen for abnormal chest conditions and refer suspicious cases to family physicians for diagnosis. Mrs Florence Bailey Passes Away in East
Mrs Florence Bailey age 78 widow of Edwin Bailey and longtime Teton county residents died in Woodville New Hampshire hospital early Sunday morning Oct 5 after a three week illness. The Baileys moved to the county in the 1890s and Bailey died in 1932 leaving Mrs Bailey to live in New Hampshire.

Predatory Bear Kills Young Steer Near Choteau
A bear killed a two year old steer a few hundred yards from the former Kirk ranch house near Choteau. The animal tore the carcass significantly and foreman Jim Peters suspects a grizzly due to the damage. The steer was already sick at the time of the attack.

Fairfield Man George B. Dryden Rites Held
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday for George B. Dryden 56 a Fairfield farmer and part time salesman who died last Saturday. Burial was at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery after services at the Fairfield Community church. He was a World War I veteran and member of the American Legion and VFW. He was born June 28 1891 in Mount Horeb Wisconsin and married Nellie Hoffman in 1915. Survived by wife and three children Virginia Lee Brant of Chanute Kansas Billy and George Jr. of Fairfield. Parents Mr. and Mrs John Wallace Dryden lived in California. He had lived near Fairfield for seven years with two sisters and two brothers one named Ray present at his passing. Banks Funeral Home of Chateau directed the service.

Coyote Control Plan Outlined by Teton Woolgrowers
Teton county woolgrowers met at the courthouse in Chateau Saturday to outline a coyote control campaign funded at about 2400 dollars. Beebe of the Fish and Wildlife service explained funds will be pooled under the Fish and Game commission, with 1080 poison handled only by qualified representatives. The county will receive about 1400 dollars from sheep assessments and will split half with the service while the rest funds county needs. Trapper Beebe and Earl Larsen plan to begin baiting around Nov 15 with landowner escorts. The program also involves flyers gunners and additional traps to boost effectiveness through woolgrower cooperation.

Hutterite Purchase of 3600 Acres Near Choteau
In Cho teau reports the Frank P. Gault ranch east of Choteau on the Teton River has sold to a Hutterite colony from north of Lethbridge Canada. The 3600 acre deal, partly irrigated, reportedly fetches about 70000 dollars about 20 dollars per acre. This marks the first Hutterite move into Teton County with more colonies expected in Montana. Voters are urged to contact Congressmen Wesley D Ewart and Senator Zales Eden in Washington for possible action.

Martin Reeves Wins Trophy In Trap Shoot
Martin Reeves of Dutton won the first annual Chateau Trap club trophy on Golf Course hill with an 89 score.
