John Gibler Named Top Student Judge in Pacific Crops Meet

John Gibler of Cholesa, a Montana State College agronomy junior, scored 2477 points to win high honors at the Pacific International crops judging contest in Portland Oregon last week. The Montana team set a new all time record with 11 firsts and captured first in all five divisions under coach Professor Samuel Litzenberger.

Five Inducted Into Army Last Week

Five Teton county men were inducted under the selective service act last week and departed Wednesday for the induction center at Missoula. They passed physicals and were sent to Fort Lewis Washington. Inductees include Joseph Hilt and Arnold Beck of Power Herman Zier of Agawam John Van Setten and Robert Van Scherpenzeel of Chateau, both volunteers. The local board will send two more men under the next quota on November 5.
