Choteau Airport Policy Demands Raise Commission Questions
At a Tuesday noon briefing George Kreitzberg urged the Choteau City-County Airport Commission to set clear policies on airport property sales and leases for private aviation facilities, building codes for private structures, utilities easements, storage and sale of aviation fuels, and the legality of the current operator contract. He proposed separate contracts for an airport manager and for facility leases, with possible use of management fees as part of a future lease deal. The commission noted no definite policy yet, pending acreage acquisition near the present airport, including 24 acres traded with Mrs. Birk of Iowa City Ta. for 24 acres adjacent to the site.

Two Fires Kept Choteau Fire Dept Busy This Week
During fire prevention week the Choteau department responded to two incidents. At 4 p.m. Tuesday a rug caught fire in a Cho teau House hotel room occupied by Ted Rineham causing smoke and a needed escape. only the rug was damaged. Wednesday at 11 a.m. a fire at the Harold Hinman home in the Cowgill addition started when linseed oil boiled and flared, damaging the home and causing minor burns to Mrs. Hinman. firefighters arrived to extinguish the flames.
