Amended Beer Ordinance Raises Chateau License Fee
Chateau beer vendors will pay higher annual licenses starting January 1 1937 after the council amended the beer ordinance from 50 to 75 dollars. Comparisons with other towns showed rates from 100 to 200 dollars. The council also authorized payment of a 2000 street bond and plans to retire all bonded debt next April. A street light at Spring Creek bridge near Adams Oil Co. was ordered, permits were granted, and claims approved.

Elk season plan debated by Teton County Sportsmen
At a large meeting the Teton County Sportsmen's association discussed elk season timing and other fish and game issues. The group added two members to the legislative committee and heard a report on the Sun River elk area. The association urged opening the elk season on September 25 for 1937, instead of October 1.

Stockmen urged to learn new range building program
County agents will hold meetings to explain the new range improvement program approved by 11 western states. Fred Willson set a Chateau courthouse meeting next Wednesday at 2 p m for stockmen and interested residents. Payments cap at $2 per grazing unit, with specified rates for contouring, springs, pits, wells, water spreading, reseeding, fencing, rodent control, and fire guards.

Lena Lathrop Dies After Illness in Blackleaf Community
Mrs Lena Lathrop died Monday at Maynard hospital from cerebral embolism after two weeks illness. Born June 6 1866 in Martin county Minnesota she moved with her husband Fred to Blackleaf in 1914 then to Teton county. Survived by her mother Ellen Jones two daughters Carroll Maynard Mildred Jardine two sisters Edith Bottomley Ethel Haight and three brothers Clifford Manford Sanford. Funeral held at Roberts chapel then body shipped to Winnebago Minnesota for interment.
