Eyvanna Van Auken daughter of Mr and Mrs J H Van Auken and Warren Connole son of Mrs Bud Connole Pendroy were wed Sunday Sept 28 at the Caghens church in Choteau by Rev J Schulte. Attendants were Leonard Connole and Mrs Leonard Connole. A reception followed at the Connole home and they will reside in Pendroy.

Peggy Martinson daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martinson and LeRoy Anderson son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson were married Sunday September 28 at 2 pm in the Lutheran church. Attendants Loretta Anderson Rex Blackerby. Carl Martinson gave the bride away. Reception followed at the groom's parents home with about 100 guests. The couple will reside at Bechtel apartments with Peggy at the AAA office and LeRoy at Rocky Mountain Elevator Company.
Choteau Food Market marks four years in business with a large advertisement offering special food bargains. Proprietor E. R. O’Neil notes the pickup in patronage since purchasing from Clarence Johnson and pledges continued effort to deserve support. Brick brand items are featured as appreciation bargains this week.
The county institute will be held in Chateau next week Monday and Tuesday Oct 6 and 7, organized by the state supervisor. It takes place at the grade school building and begins at 1 o clock Monday with all day Tuesday activities.
Choteau streets were quiet as duck hunters hit streams and ponds on opening day. Local conditions produced abundant ducks and good shooting, with many hunters returning to town quickly with limits. The report notes some hunters failed to recover shot birds and gives sunrise times for the 60 day season.
Federal migratory bird stamps surpassed 1.25 million purchases last year with Minnesota posting the highest state total at 118,931. Michigan, Wisconsin, and California followed, while Texas Illinois Washington Louisiana New York and Iowa also ranked in the top ten. Each stamp sells for $1 at post offices to fund federal refuge programs and is required for all migratory waterfowl hunters over 16. collectors also purchase many stamps.

About 20 business men clerks and retailers attended the salesmanship lecture at the grade school auditorium Tuesday night delivered by Walter E Elieson of Helena representing the George Den setup for funded lectures on better salesmanship. The eight week course costs 2 00 for all sessions and signups are strong with hopes for 30 retailers in the county.
The ninth annual Chautauqua is planned for October 17 to 19 with a Sunday night feature on October 19. The county chorus will perform fine songs and an outstanding speaker is sought. The Sun River primitive area film shown by S C Rumford of Great Falls Sporting Goods highlights the event. The Chateau Woman's club presents a one act play and the high school band performs one night along with community skits and musical numbers.
The Red Cross has received 150 yards of material for boys shirts and asks all capable women to spend afternoons cutting. County chairman Mrs A J Nutter will be at the courthouse Tuesday and Friday at 1 30 and Mrs J C Beck on Wednesday afternoon to help cut material. The Red Cross also requests used clothing for local relief.
A series of farm meetings across the county begin Monday Oct 6 in Farmington to discuss the 1942 agricultural goals under the defense program. Local leaders Wellenstein and Halvorson will lead discussions on production targets, storage of non perishables, and the lend lease commitments shaping national food policy.
