Government to participate in state conservation projects

Montana farmers may qualify for cost share to establish pilot recreation enterprises under the 1962 Food and Agriculture Act. M R Motors Passed to Bob Dellwo in Choteau

Robert Dellwo of Choteau has taken ownership of M R Motors from Tore Reuterwall. Dellwo previously spent seven years at Choteau Ford in parts service and sales and plans to keep current staff and services. The agency is renamed Bob's Ford Sales.

Ea F Turner Dies in California After Long Montana Career

Ray Frank Turner, 76, longtime Montana business figure, died last week in Upland California. Turner came to Montana in 1909, worked for the Montana Power Co until 1913, then bought a hotel and ice company and the Continental Oil Agency. He is survived by his widow and 60 sons.

Eva M Hadley 97 Dies in Teton County Rest Home

Eva Matilda Hadley 97 died after a two week illness at Teton County Rest Home Choteau on Monday Nov 19. Born August 31 1865 in Warren County Iowa she moved to Nebraska as a child and lived a pioneer life. She married Jesse Garringer in 1883 and after his death wed Erwin A Hadley in 1902. Survived by son Noah Garringer Choteau daughters Mrs Jennie Bymer Earlham Iowa and Mrs Pearl Tangen Choteau plus five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral held for W P Phillips in Chateau

Wesley Pitcher Phillips 87 of Chateau died last Thursday at Teton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born September 15, 1875 in Danridge Tennessee he moved to Montana in 1918 and settled in Pendrey then Choteau in 1943. Survivors include two sons Elmo and James a daughter Ruth Matchett five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at Chateau Methodist Church with burial in Choteau cemetery.

Betzes Malt Barley Approved at Meet

Betzes barley was approved as a malting variety for eastern Montana at the annual Malting Barley Improvement Association meeting. The association notes barley grown east of the Continental Divide in pure, sound, bright, plump low moisture form can fetch premium prices over seed barley.
