Jerome Suek Dies in Great Falls Hotel Fire
Jerome A. Suek 38, a Dutton rancher, died early Monday in a fire at the James Hotel Great Falls. Coroner Dr Charles E Magner said no foul play and an inquest were expected. He was found from a smoke filled room on the hotel’s second floor and died en route to a local hospital. The fire, caused by careless smoking, was reported by owner F J Hall and night clerk Robert Gilmore. He was born in Great Falls April 12 1924 and had lived in Dutton and Great Falls. He is survived by parents, siblings and other relatives. Funeral plans listed as Friday in Dutton.

The Choteau High School junior varsity and freshmen teams won all three weekend games. JV edged Great Falls Central JV 35-34 after a tight fourth period while the freshmen beat GFC freshmen 42-40 and topped Dutton 57-22. Leroy Banis led scoring with 16 points in the freshman win. Doyle Dies After Brief Illness at 79 in Conrad
David Wilfred Doyle aged 79, longtime Conrad attorney and former Teton county official, died last Monday after a brief illness. A Minnesota Law School graduate, he began practice in Conrad in 1900 and was well known in the Chateau area. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Conrad with burial at Mt. Olivet cemetery, Magr.

Choteau High School girls participated in the ninth annual Betty Crocker Search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow contest sponsored by General Mills. About 410,000 girls in 12,500 schools compete for state and national scholarships totaling 110000. Local winners gain recognition and a school receives an encyclopedia set for each state winner. Marked guidelines include cutting only in side drainages of North and South Fork of Teton Canyon roads and keeping 200 feet from trails.
