Reports from Lew is and Clark forest rangers show a revised elk kill total of 160 for the season with 24 wounded and likely to die. Of the 160, 72 bulls 67 cows and 21 calves were slain plus six on Blackfoot drainage and 46 on Big River drainage. Forest officials urge season extension to align with herd growth and wintering range, noting 184 disposed and a target of 1 052 kills next fall to maintain a 4 200 head herd.

Turkeys to be shipped from Chateau December 4
The Teton County Shipping association urges those shipping from Chateau to bring their turkeys to the north entrance of the county high school building by December 4. Turkeys will be processed in the basement under the supervision of Secretary J. E. Hodgskiss.

Farmer Sustains Severe Leg Injury In Tractor Accident
Carl E Carlson of northeast of Chateau on Burton bench was run over by a tractor while disking a field. He backed toward a harrow to drag it free, tried to reach the clutch from the ground, and the wheel passed over his leg, breaking it between the ankle and knee. He crawled a half mile to his car, then was taken to Chateau hospital.

John Lyon Teton County Pioneer Dies in Chateau
John Lyon longtime Montana resident and Teton County pioneer died Wednesday morning at his home after years of poor health. Born June 13 1958 in Illinois he moved to Kansas Nevada California and Montana and settled near Chateau in 1894. He and Isabel Holm married December 22 1898 and had three children Oscar Jay and Clara. Funeral services will be at the Methodist church Friday at 2 30 p m.

The high school band advances under Mr Jackson and will learn a new march next week. Primary methods class observes phonics at the grade school Tuesday and Wednesday. Football pictures are on display and for sale at the high school. Inter class basketball tournament runs December 4 to 7 with games for Frosh, Soph, Junior and Senior teams. Fulton 500 Barrel Oil Well Opens in Pondera Field
The Jones No. 1 well of Fulton Petroleum in the Pondera field came in at 6 o clock Sunday and is reported to be flowing 500 barrels daily. Oil was struck at 2020 feet. Tanks a half mile away store the crude. It marks the first producer on the Edward Jones farm in the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of section 9 township 27 north range 4 west.
