Hit and Run Driver Arrested Here Friday
A warrant for Richard Loy’s arrest was obtained Friday night for driving without a license after his Studebaker eight struck Miss Frances Pings’ Chevrolet Monday night four miles south of Bynum. Pings identified the car and its occupants. Loy allegedly admitted the collision but fled Chateau hotel.

Womans Club Meets at Mrs Nelson Home Tuesday

A telegram from Twin Falls Idaho informs of the birth of a daughter to Mr and Mrs Wm Upman. The message reached Chateau the same day as Mr Upman’s parents Mr and Mrs H D Upman. Mr Upman works for Winston Bros on an irrigation project near Lewiston and the couple left for that area last July. Mrs Upman was formerly Miss Ella Deaver.

Chateau Lions club held a bi monthly meeting with Jas Griffin of Chinook Montana district governor delivering a talk on Lionism. Death Comes To Mrs Joanis While Sleeping
Oscar Joanis found his wife Corene Pearl Hyatt Joanis dead in bed, heart failure while sleeping after illness from influenza. She was born April 30 1889 in Owensboro Kentucky, daughter of James T and Edna Hyatt. She married Oscar Joanis September 4 1918 in Owensboro and lived in Square Butte Montana and Choteau Montana before moving back to Owensboro for burial.

The county agent's weather readings show a minimum of 19 degrees below zero on Tuesday at the 5 o'clock mark. The period featured a storm starting Saturday afternoon and peaking around 10 p.m. The thermometer then climbed to 10 or 12 degrees above by Tuesday morning as winds died and snow cleared.

Rush Named To Yellowstone Park Zoological Chief Post
William Rush of Absaroka forest district is on temporary leave to join the interior department’s Yellowstone Park branch. He travels to Berkeley for a zoology course before returning to Mammoth to lead the parks zoological department with ongoing wildlife study and reports. The position is a new branch funded by public support rather than the national park service. Rush previously served as assistant supervisor of Lewis and Clark National Forest and lived in Choteau.

Barker, Cascade County Leader, Dies in Great Falls
Joseph A. Barker longtime Montana resident and Cascade county board chairman died Friday at his Great Falls home. He arrived in Montana 44 years ago, worked as ranch hand near Dupuyer, later moved to Great Falls where he served 33 years and was register of the U S land office 1917 to 1921. Born Picton Ontario July 4 1866, he belonged to the Masonic fraternity and is survived by relatives. Funeral was held Tuesday.

Loser in Great Falls Fire Rebuilds Dress Shop
Miss Lillian Alspaugh of Great Falls, a former resident, spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. H. J Halladay. She was among those who lost property in the Wingsbury block fire, where she operated a dressmaking business on the second floor. Reports from Chicago say Montana broke last year's prize record at the International Hay and Grain show. The state led with sweepstakes in wheat oats and barley and had 11 first places halfway through judging. No awards went to Teton county exhibitors. Sweepstakes winners were C Edson Smith in wheat and C Ivan Gustafson in oats and barley both from Ravalli county.

T B Irvin's Car Damaged by Fire In Sunday Incident
An Essex car owned by T B Irvin an instructor at Teton county high school was badly damaged by fire Sunday about 1130 at his home in the Trobson addition. After starting the engine he left the car briefly to warm it and returned to find the interior in flames. Neighbors formed a bucket brigade and the blaze was put out but the body and upholstery were destroyed. The fire likely stemmed from a wiring short circuit and the loss was partially insured.

The Teton County Shipping association gears up for a larger Christmas turkey shipment than any year. Loading began Monday at Pendroy and will finish at Power today, with 50 0381 pounds already loaded in Pendroy and Chateau. A second car is in progress at Collins, Dutton and Power. Northern Creamery of Great Falls pays 36 cents for tops and 28 cents for seconds. Delivery operations extended all Tuesday night at the county high school as 40 vehicles queued for final dispatch to Newark New Jersey.

Special Thanksgiving services were held at the Methodist church in this city with Rev. E. R. Waemmer in charge. Two baby boys were baptized, sons of Henry Bauma and C T L Dulaney, the latter named Tack Wilson.
