Annual Old Timers Banquet a Success in Hall Halls
The Forty-first annual Homecoming of Teton's Oldest Settlers was held in the American Legion and Odd Fellows halls last Thursday night despite snow. Mrs. Eva Burns was elected president, with Mrs. James Peebles as vice president and Miss Meda McLean as secretary. The event featured readings, a banquet, and music by Oscar Riches orchestra, with attendees from Great Falls and local supporters amid festive decorations.

Polio Campaign Heads Named Drive in Jan
Frank E. McDonnell and county leaders met November 18 at Chateau to plan the forthcoming March of Dimes campaign. Montana polio cases rose 105 percent in 1952 reaching 229 with several counties exhausted funds seeking over $65,000 in aid. County chapters urged locals to donate dimes and volunteer.

The Red Cross Bloodmobbile sponsored by the American Legion auxiliary unit of Chateau held a successful blood drawing at the Methodist church despite cold weather and poor roads. 105 registered with 11 rejects. 49 pints drawn toward Chateau’s O positive quota of 49. Dr. Mc Farland of Great Falls led the drive with many volunteers assisting in recruitment, nursing, canteen, clerical work, and setup.

Hazel Slanger married Rev Thomas J Gannon officiating in a double ring ceremony at St Josephs Church. The bride wore a white taffeta gown with a nylon lace veil and carried a bouquet of red streetheart roses and white mums. One fourth inch of moisture fell in the latest storm with November totals reaching about one third inch. Weekend snow raised levels to six to seven inches in Dillon and Butte areas.
