Robbery at Dale Implement in Choteau Files Stolen
Thieves broke a north side window at Dale Implement in Choteau last Friday night and took a file cabinet safe and three Winchester guns a 97 shotgun a 300 Magnum rifle and a 218B rifle. Four juvenile suspects from out of town are under investigation as Sheriff Peterson pursues leads and a reward is posted for the recovery of the irreplaceable records.

Frank George of Chateau suffered scratches and bruises in a tar truck collision two miles south of Dupuyer yesterday morning. Parocia of Dupuyer claimed to signal a turn and wide entry as George rear-ended the truck. Banks ambulance responded. Patrolman Helf issued a ticket to Parocia for being on the wrong side of the road. Thomas Thibert of Simms is jailed on a driving while intoxicated charge. his trial set for November 25 with a $150 bail.

Bill Sabo Suffers Loss Of Three Fingers In Logging Accident
Bill Sabo of this city was injured Tuesday morning while skidding logs on the West Fork of the Teton River. His right hand was pulled into a winch on the tractor, resulting in the loss of the three middle fingers. He extricated his arm and was taken to Teton Memorial Hospital by Brine Nelson, who assisted at the scene.

E B Emrick Dies Noted for Oil Discoveries
E B Emrick, renowned geologist of Conrad, died at Conrad hospital Monday evening at 64 after a long cancer battle. He helped discover the Pondera field in 1927 and the Southwest Pondera field, later formed Emrick Oil Field Management with his son Robert. Survived by wife Fern daughter Mrs Betty MacGilvra of Seattle and son Robert B of Conrad.

Big Game Kills Disappointing Weather Cited
Large game hunting was weaker than normal due to mild weather through the season that ended last Saturday. Elk kills lagged in the area per forest ranger Jack Hinman while many deer hunters did well. Lack of snow kept game high on mountains, with Bonner station reporting a near standstill in late October. Some elk areas remain open under specific map zones in West Gallatin Big Hole Madison Broadwater Park Meagher and Judith Basin counties with boundary checks and regulations advised by the Fish and Game department.

Chateau will be represented by Jake Luinstra president of the area Wildlife organization and delegates from the Teton County Boat and Anglers Club and the Teton County Sportsmen’s Association. Mr and Mrs Walter Partlow attended a Kelvinator dealers meeting in Billings where about 100 were present to see the new Kelvinator appliances.
