Traffic: Engineer Proposes City Improvements

Montana State Highway traffic engineer Paul Poirier presented suggestions at the council meeting on Chateau traffic flow. He advised keeping West Division two way, limiting parking to one side, and updating signals while noting a 68 000 cost to reroute the highway if pursued. The council also discussed routing Augusta Chateau Great Falls traffic and removing a stop light at Main and First to create a through street. Additionally, the council authorized extending the sewer two blocks in Cowgill Addition at an estimated 2500 for excavation and pipe.

Teton County ASC Balloting Procedure Explained by Chairman

Two Directors Re elected At Sun River Electric Co op Meeting

Sun River Electric announced the unanimous reelection of directors Charles Field Pendroy and George Huffman Sun River at its 28th annual meeting held November 15. Also reelected were S T McFarland Conrad Field George Grosskopf C G McDermott Ralph Bishop Stan Stelling and Huffman at the reorganizational meeting. Rod Hanson reported on the co op's condition as it completed its fifth general retirement of capital credits totaling 442 108 since inception. The 1954 retirement of 58 133 will be paid this fall to those who bought electricity in 1954. Sun River Electric serves about 2600 rural customers with 2100 miles of line across eight counties.

County rest home debate draws about 100 in Choteau

Funeral services for John W Hall 80 former Chateau city engineer and longtime state engineer were held Monday in Great Falls with burial in Sun River Cemetery He died Friday in a Havre hospital Hall a civil and consulting engineer built water and sewer systems in many Montana cities Born in Keyser West Virginia October 31 1885 he moved to Montana in 1909 to work as an engineer and later served as city engineer in Choteau Great Falls and Miles City Hall was active in Montana engineering for over 50 years
