Fourteen Chateau high school teachers presented ideas at a special school board meeting on Thursday. Secretary William Olsen said the board will review suggestions to determine space needs and feasibility, with plans to meet with architects next month and estimate the project cost. Ideas include science workrooms, green house, weather station, two 30 student labs, language rooms, and wildlife areas.

Mrs Crabtree Dies at 89 in Montana Rest Home
Mrs C W Alice Crabtree aged 89 died Monday night at the Teton County Rest Home. Funeral services are pending. She homesteaded with husband Chris in the Sun River Valley in 1910. Survivors include four daughters Mrs John Kessinger Mrs Bernard Hatcher Mrs Frank Sumak and Mrs L C Buck a son J W Crabtree and a sister in Mis soula.

Residents discuss planning for mentally retarded in Teton County
About 40 residents from Teton County met November 16 in the county courthouse to learn how they might assist mentally retarded people in the area. Dr. Arthur E Westwell spoke on differences between mental retardation and mental illness, noting about 200 causes with only 25 percent known. Senator J W Breen and Rep W Gordon McOmber attended and Breen was named temporary chairman. Chester Baker to be temporary secretary treasurer. Jayceens provided coffee and cookies.

Chateau council and school board act to ease traffic
The Chateau city council and school board unite to reduce parking and pedestrian hazards at the high and elementary schools. A cable barrier across the high school lot will direct traffic flow, limiting entry and exit to two lanes. Students may leave cars at noon to free space, while gravel lots owned by Drs. Hunting Trip Ends with Near Fatal Back Injury to Dr William Patton
Dr William Patton and three companions were hunting Friday when a .2710 caliber bullet struck Patton’s back. The projectile entered mid back and exited the right shoulder, leaving an eight inch wound. Patton remained conscious, was taken by truck to a hospital, admitted Friday night, released Monday, and back on the job Tuesday. He reported a second bullet hole later found in the brim of his hat and said the incident would not slow his hunting.
