Truck Driver Narrowly Escapes Big Muddy Bridge Wreck
Charles Momberg, 21, of Browning escaped death when a heavy truck toppled guard rails on the Big Muddy bridge at Bynum. Timber from the damaged rails crushed the cab and windshield as the vehicle hung on the edge. Patrolman Helf charged Momberg with reckless driving. brakes likely faulty, he was unhurt. The truck, a 1941 Ford 1 1/2 ton owned by Hamby’s garage, was driven north after the incident.

Episcopal Bishop Daniels to Visit Local Church Sunday

Legion Auxiliary to Send Girl to Girls State Program
The American Legion auxiliary will sponsor a girl to Girls State at Billings in June next year. The program trains youth in democratic principles and was expanded this year to include more departments. The outstanding Girl's State citizen will attend Girl's Nation in Washington, DC. Hutterite fined for reckless driving on Pendroy hill
Peter Wipf of the Miami Hutterite colony near Pendroy was fined 25 dollars by Patrolman Henry Helf for reckless driving and for operating a truck with inferior brakes and lacking a license. His 1937 Ford truck rolled back on Earls hill as gears changed, colliding with Roy Bergmond’s 1941 Oldsmobile sedan, causing only limited damage.
