Mrs Rene Lyons of the Elk Run ranch in Chouteau county gains notice for art modeling with works like The Range Thief. A native of Teton county and daughter of W H Fincher, she grew up in Montana counties and sold pieces in Chicago St Paul Denver and Seattle.

Fairfield beach rural resettlement project underway

More than 50 Montana farm families will relocate to the Fairfield beach rural resettlement project in Cascade and Teton counties near Great Falls. Construction has started with cellars dug for the first 50 homes under the supervision of Ford Gibson the project’s new resident engineer. The program aims to reestablish stranded families on 13 000 acres of the Sun River reclamation area as fields are prepared for spring planting.

Popular Young Couple Weds at Earl Yeager Home

Sunday wedding at the Earl Yeager home in Chateau united Harry Yeager and Helen Redmond in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Edwin L. Dover. The couple, graduates of Teton County High, plan to live on the Yeager ranch and begin a deer livestock venture. The storm canceled the Conrad game, ending area football for the season.

Get-Together At Bole Enjoyed by County Club Members

The first all county home demonstration club social of 1936 37 was held Friday October 30 at Bole hall with about 250 members families and friends in attendance A noon cafeteria dinner featured beef and noodles macaroni and cheese sandwiches pickles fruit salad cake and coffee Decorations included pumpkins witches and other Halloween motifs Oak leaves Halloween owls and bats marked each seating table Members and guests registered and new seating tokens were distributed Afternoon programs included group singing club readings songs skits and solos presented by Pendroy Agawam Farmington Greenfields Diamond Valley and other clubs with County Agent Fred Willson assisting and the group expressing a wish for more such gatherings

Teton High to Stage Vaudeville Show November 20

Teton County High School Music Department under Miss Mae Walton and Miss Grace Thompson presents a seven act vaudeville at the high school auditorium Sunday evening November 20. Fifty to sixty students perform music drama dance and singing with varied acts and a master of ceremonies. Admission is 25 cents and the show opens at eight o clock with a cabaret scene and numerous specialty numbers.

Odd Fellow Party Opens Season At Ma sonic Hall

A large crowd attended the first Odd Fellow party of the season held Tuesday night at the Ma sonic hall. Dancing and refreshments were featured with music by Mrs. Co hoe's orchestra.

Great Democratic Llandslide Continues To Slide On Tetons

Three activities sponsored by local organizations this week and last reported financial gains. The Ladies Industrial of the Methodist Church held a harvest gale and bazaar netting about $200. The Chateau Country Club dance and the Episcopal guild dinner on election day also contributed earnings. Carnival events accompanied the dance and election returns were posted. Tennant's orchestra performed.

Rodent Control Contest Shows County Wins

The 4 H club council of Teton county held its annual meeting at the courthouse with about 30 in attendance. Umlary Lau bach presided as the rodent control contest report highlighted a total of 471 370 points by 17 clubs surpassing 1935. Prizes totaling 50 dollars will be awarded to the 13 top clubs at the Valentine party next February and top individuals in each club plus countywide top boys and girls receive awards.

Teton County Returns Show Democratic Landslide and Local Wins

Voters in Teton County backed the Democratic slate in statewide races led by Senator James E. Murray over T. O. Larson with margins surpassing two to one. Local contests produced wins for Connor for the house, Udine for county attorney, Meadows for county treasurer, and Billings for sheriff, with unopposed successes for WagField and Murphy. Roosevelt carried the county by over three to one, Ayers defeated Hazelbaker for governor, and Reardon narrowly beat Ireland for state superintendent.

Armistice Day events remain undecided as of yesterday with no definite Legion post announcements. Businesses in the city plan to close next Wednesday, while officials expect a modest observance at a courthouse or public school due to Election and other activities.
