Teton Gridders Not Defeated During Season

The Teton county high school completed an undefeated seven game 6 man football schedule by defeating Fort Shaw 34 to 13 last Thursday. Fort Shaw showed promise with long passes but Teton prevailed with strong running and a late surge including a safety.

Joint Concert by Dutton and Chateau School Bands Tonight

Tonight the Dutton high school band and the Chateau school band perform a joint concert starting at 8 15. Irshal Davis calls the local group the best since he took over three years ago and the instrumental quality meets National Band Committee standards. The Dutton band led by Ashley Roberts features 36 members and performed at Havre last spring to strong reception. A December concert with Dutton at Patton is planned, sponsored by the Band-Parents club.

Dean Corey Takes Over Teton Dairy Retailing

Dean Corey, a 1938 Teton County High School graduate, has leased the Teton dairy retail business from Charles Miller. The deal took effect November 1, with Miller continuing in production to supply milk and dairy products that Corey will buy and distribute. The business will keep the Teton dairy name and high quality products. Corey has served as a deliveryman since last May.

Ruth Stansberry Returns to Missoula Student At Business College

Miss Ruth Stansberry, a Tetog County high school graduate, returned to Missoula on Monday to resume studies at a local business college. She spent about a month visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Orlo Stansberry and other relatives and friends.

Hove Motor Sales to Open New Ford Garage in Chateau

John G. Hove leads the project as Hove Motor Sales erects a two‑section garage on First Street Northeast behind the Beaupre hotel. The first 60 by 40 foot section will house pumps and a driveway with concrete floors and stuccoed exterior. The second section to follow next spring will extend the rear by 40 feet. John G. Hove previously ran a used car operation in Minor North Carolina and Ford agencies in Watford City and Enumclaw Washington. O. L. Aispach of Wolf Point, and brothers Clifford Hove of Chateau and Haakon Hove of Conrad assist, with completion aimed in a month.

State FFA Officials Praise Local Chapter Work

Dan Mizner and A J Johnson visited the Teton FFA chapter to inspect activities. Arnold Neiswender and Alvin Meyer spoke at the meeting. Alvin Meyer shared insights from the National Vulture Farmer convention. Johnson and Mizner praised the chapter and discussed future work before traveling to Browning.

Enthusiastic Republican Rally Held in Greenfield

Greenfield turnout exceeded 200 at a Teton county Republican central committee rally in the community hall Tuesday evening. State Senator John Leuthold of Columbus gave the principal address, introduced by former colleague Senator T O Larson who also introduced county candidates. The event was presided over by Lyle Staridish, county central committee chair.

The county news letter by Fred Willgon mails to about 1400 farmers and businessmen, summarizing weather, wheat loans, crop insurance, soil conservation, 4 H and H D clubs, poultry and turkeys, and sleeping sickness in horses. Montana Fish and Game Bans Elk Hunting in North Sun River Area

An Associated Press dispatch from Helena reports the Montana Fish and Game Commission ordered the north fork of the Sun River drainage in Teton county closed to elk hunting from Nov 8. The action, urged by Cascade County’s Central Montana Conservation Club, aims to keep elk out of lower ranch lands and concentrate them on winter range in the Teton country.

Wells Family Begins Extended Auto-Trailer Tour West

Mr and Mrs A A Wells started yesterday an auto-trailer journey across the west and southwest states. After an overnight in Fairfield with J E Young they planned to visit their daughter Adele in Spokane before continuing. They expect winter in California or southwestern regions and may settle in western Montana or northern Idaho in spring.

State Land Board Purchases Fairfield High Bond Issue

The Fairfield high school bonds worth 550,000 were bought by the State Land Board Monday at 10 AM. Commissioner Mrs Sherlock purchased the amortization bonds at par to match a 645,000 PWA grant, creating a 100,000 fund for a local high school.

Mr and Mrs John Conlin depart for Corvallis Oregon driving their car and shipping household goods while Mr and Mrs Thos Moore and Mr and Mrs Del Andrews plan later departures to join Mr Conlin.
